Carrie Underwood & a Cheery Country Christmas

In a promotional video for her album, Underwood discussed her love of Christmas.

“Now more than ever, we all need to focus on what Christmas is about, rely more on our family, and even though it has been a tough year, sometimes I feel like the greatest realizations can come in the worst times, or in the most stressful times, and it makes you more thankful for the things you do have,” she says in the video.

“My Gift”

Carrie Underwood will perform songs from her most recent album, “My Gift,” on the special accompanied by a live orchestra and choir.

The album full of holiday music was released last month. It features duets with her young son Isaiah and John Legend.

“My Gift” will feature holiday classics like “Silent Night,” “O Come All Ye Faithful,” “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” and more.

“The journey of writing and recording this album started last year when I finished my tour, and we could have never anticipated the circumstances we would be in this year,” Underwood said. “Creating this album has been good for my heart, and I’m thrilled to get to share it with the world and to bring it to life with Playtone and HBO Max.”

Carrie has been thanking her fans for their excitement, and she has spread excitement of her own.

“I’ve never been lucky enough to get to do an entire [Christmas] album, and this just seems like the year,” Underwood said in an interview with Circle All Access Minute. “I’m so proud of the music that we were able to create, but, also, we were able to create it this year, through all the obstacles. We just want to bring some Christmas joy to people, so I’m super excited.”
