Carrie Underwood’s Easter Concert Raises Massive Amount for Charity

Country music’s sweetheart Carrie Underwood not only had a rocking performance, but she also raised thousands for charity.

Carrie Underwood Event

Yesterday morning, Carrie Underwood held her Easter Sunday concert at the Ryman Auditorium, where she performed her gospel album, My Savior. Carrie Underwood released My Savior as her 8th overall and first gospel album on March 26, 2021.

While the virtual concert itself was obviously top-notch, the event held a greater meaning.

Carrie Underwood didn’t only want to raise her praises for the special holiday. She hoped the event would raise money for the Save the Children Fund.

The Easter celebration was free to the public, however, Underwood hoped many fans would still donate to the generous charity.

Boy, did they not disappoint.

According to Pop Culture, as of 1:30 p.m. ET, Carrie Underwood’s event had already raised $68,053 for Save the Children.

Moreover, the donation amount as of Monday morning surpasses $100,000.

The charity “works in over 100 countries to make sure children all over the world grow up healthy, educated and safe.” Additionally, The Save the Children Fund works to bring children food and other essential needs. To donate to the life-saving non-profit, please click here.

The event is live-streamed on Carrie Underwood’s Facebook page. The performance will be available for viewing for 48 hours after Easter. So, there is still time to enjoy the concert and donate!

In a press release, Underwood explained what it means to have this beneficial concert on such a significant day.

“It means so much to be able to bring this event to people in their homes on a day that holds so much meaning for us spiritually and to be able to raise much-needed funds and awareness for the incredible work of Save the Children as we celebrate the importance of family.”

Carrie Underwood was joined on stage by gospel superstars CeCe Winans and NEEDTOBREATHE frontman Bear Rinehart.

‘My Savior’

When talking about her My Savior album on an Instagram Live, Carrie Underwood says that gospel music is “timeless.”

“I’ve wanted to make this album my whole life. I’ve been talking about it for years,” said Underwood. “So often, music shifts and changes, and you have new sounds and new subjects to sing about, but these songs have truly lasted the test of time. Some of them are hundreds of years old, they’re just beautiful. I sang them growing up, and my parents sang them growing up, and now we want kids now to sing them growing up and just to be a part of trying to keep these songs alive, it’s beautiful, and it’s hopefully timeless.”
