Carrie Underwood has so much to be happy about right now. The first single from her upcoming gospel album is getting some great reviews around the web. At the same time, fans of gospel music, country music, and Underwood are eagerly awaiting the album’s March release. In short, her year is off to a great start.
Carrie Underwood has more to be proud of than her latest single and upcoming album, though. She took to Twitter today to share a proud mama moment. The tweet contains a link to listen to “The Blessing” by Kari Jobe, Cody Carnes, and Elevation Worship. The song was recorded live at Elevation Church.
In the caption, Carrie Underwood says that the song “brings the tears every single time.” The country music star adds that hearing her young sons “sing ‘amen’ is the heavenly cherry on top.” Whether she means that they sing along to the song in their home or the kiddos are featured in the chorus is unclear. What is clear, however, is that it is a beautiful song.
Carrie Underwood Shares Beautiful, Moving Worship Song
The worship song in Carrie Underwood’s tweet is beautiful. She shared an Apple Music link but the song is also available on other platforms including YouTube. In a live video, you can see the whole congregation gathered to perform the song. The choir is lead by Kari Jobe and Cody Carnes.
Before they start the song, Kari explains how they wrote it. She said, “We got together with Pastor Chris and Pastor Steven… to just go in after the presence of God and try to pen lyric and melody. After a couple of hours, it just felt like the presence of God just stopped everything and we wrote a song called ‘The Blessing,’.” She went on to discuss the content of the song. About this, she explained, “It’s straight from scripture and it’s the heart of the Father over us as his kids. This is a blessing over you and your family and your children.”
After listening to the passionate group sing such a touching song, it is easy to see why it brings tears to Carrie Underwood’s eyes. The addition of her children sharing not only the song but also her faith truly is a heavenly cherry on top.
