What Charlie Daniels Band Had to Say

On Sunday (December 6), the team shared a tweet in honor of the anniversary. “Charlie’s been gone five months today,” they wrote. “Still doesn’t seem possible.”

His gravesite is in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee.

Additionally, a photo of his grave was included in the tweet. A Christmas wreath was put above his grave with American flags and red flowers covering the top portion. The grave itself reads Charles E. Daniels on a black plaque. In addition, the bible verse Psalm 91: 1-8 is also displayed on the plaque. Finally, his autograph is displayed at the bottom.

Memorials

Firstly, Daniels’ son, Charlie Jr., shared the sweet message someone left him via a USPS box. “RIP Charlie Daniels,” the box read. His son shared the message in a tweet. “An acquaintance of ours who lives in Mt. Juliet ordered something from the @Chubby_Chipmunk in Deadwood, SD,” he wrote. “Dad played Deadwood many times and the store owners must have made the connection.”

Secondly, Dog the Bounty Hunter revealed that his reality show, Dog Unleashed will include a theme song featuring his music.  “Our new theme song says it all it’s called ‘A Simple Man’ by the Charlie Daniels Band please tell us if you like it,” he wrote.

Thirdly, the 2020 CMA Awards also paid tribute to the legendary fiddle player. The opening number was a “Devil Went Down to Georgia” collaboration.  Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley, The Brothers Osborne, and Ashley McBryde performed a memorable tribute.

Additionally, NASCAR driver Clint Bowyer made a subtle reference to Daniels.  “I once heard the late @thecharliedanielsband say dance with the one that brung ya,” he wrote. “These are the ones that brung me. Had a chance to represent some of the best companies in the world. Forever grateful. 💪”

In addition, the band paid tribute once again to their fallen lead singer. By the same token, they revealed that the United States Flag and Tennessee state flag flew over his grave.
