The Charlie Daniels Band Instagram page made sure to give a birthday shoutout to country music and gospel singer Randy Travis.

There is no doubt that Charlie Daniels and Randy Travis are two of the most influential country legends of all-time. And not only that, but the two were extremely close friends. In fact, Daniels and Travis headlined the 2016 class of inductees into the Country Music Hall of Fame.

It only made sense for the Charlie Daniels estate to take a moment to recognize Randy Travis on his 62nd birthday.

“A very happy birthday to the incomparable @therandytravis,” the band wrote. “Happy Birthday and many more! – TeamCDB”

Randy Travis Shares Touching Message Following Charlie Daniels Death

After Charlie Daniels died at 83 last year because of a stroke, Randy Travis was one of the first to offer up an absolutely moving tribute. Travis spoke on Instagram about the unique relationship that he shared with the “Devil Went Down to Georgia” singer.

“Charlie Daniels was one of the finest gentlemen I have ever known,” Travis wrote alongside the touching video. ” He, and Hazel, have been two of my and Mary’s dearest friends over the past years. We laughed cried and prayed together. Not only was he a gift to us, but to the entire world.”

Next to the caption of the post is a video of Charlie Daniels and Randy Travis praying together backstage. Meanwhile, Travis — who suffered a massive stroke of his own in 2013 — goes on to talk about the impact that Charlie Daniels had on him.

“A few years ago, Charlie had a colt born on my birthday and named him after me,” Travis explained. “The memories go on and on, so, I’ll leave it at this — Charlie, thank you for everything you’ve done for me. Your endless support of us, your unconditional love, and the sweet memories. It is my greatest honor to be your Country Music Hall of Fame classmate. You will live on forever as my hero. My friend. I love you.”

The accomplishments of both Charlie Daniels and Randy Travis run deep and wide. There is no question about that. Not only are the two great friends when they are together, but individually, they will each go down as two of the most iconic legends in all of country music.
