Like many country singers, Stapleton got to be home more this year with his wife Morgane and their five children. It’s an experience that Stapleton considers to be an early Christmas present.

When he’s not releasing albums, Chris Stapleton has spent this year changing diapers. The singer traded his guitar for baby wipes. But Stapleton couldn’t be happier being a family man.

“I get ‘em all up every morning and make ‘em breakfast and watch ‘em run around, you know,” Stapleton told Country Now. “It’s a special thing to get to do. What a privilege and a gift, in a year that on the surface might seem very devoid of gifts.”

Not all his children still wear diapers though. His oldest children are now 11 and 10 years old and approaching their teen years. Stapleton said he really got to know them as a parent and is thankful for the extra time home.

“You get to really check in with — my older children are 11 and 10…so there’s all kinds of new personality and emotional space to explore with them,” Stapleton continued. “It’s really interesting to talk to them and hear their takes on things, their likes and dislikes, and they’re very opinionated.”

Chris Stapleton Values Privacy

But it would take a seasoned detective to track down his children’s names. Neither Chris Stapleton nor his wife Morgane has shared their names publically. The couple values their kids’ privacy and the fact they didn’t sign up for fame. He’ll let them make that choice when they’re older.

“I signed up for this,” Stapleton told The Boot. “My children did not. I am a very private person, and in that respect, I keep my children out of it. They’re children, and they deserve the chance to be children. My wife comes out [in the public eye], and she’s an adult, so she can choose to do that. My children did not make that choice, and [talking about them in detail in public] is, for me, kind of off-limits.”

The family welcomed a new addition in 2019. Stapleton and his family live on a farm and plan to spend the holiday enjoying the simple things of life.

“We’ll probably just stay at the house, put up a Christmas tree, eat too much and take a nap on the couch,” he said.
