Country music singer Clint Black, who celebrated his birthday on Feb. 4, loves talking about the love of his life, Lisa Hartman Black.

Black appeared with his wife on an episode of “The Bobby Bones Show” radio talk-show. Black released a song called “Til The End Of Time,” which is a love song that also includes his wife on vocals.

That’s nothing new for Black, one of country music’s most powerful and impressive songwriters and performers. Yet Bones wanted to know how his romance with his wife actually started.

“Well, we met New Year’s Eve 30 years ago this past New Year’s Eve,” Black said, “and we were married 10 months and 20 days later. So we knew pretty quickly.”

Bones asks what type of environment both Black and Hartman Black met under. She said with a laugh, “No, we were sober.”

“I was incredibly ill,” Black said. “I had a New Year’s Eve concert in Houston, where we’re both from, and Lisa and her mom were back in Houston for the holidays and came to the show and we met backstage briefly.

“Then we had mutual friends who were matchmakers who were trying to get us together,” he said.

Hartman Black was asked by Bones how long it took for her to sense that Black was someone she wanted to date.

Hartman Black Says Attraction To Black Happened ‘Quickly’

“It happened pretty quickly,” she said. “I mean, there was an immediate attraction and then we went on our first date and we just talked about everything under the sun. And it was just, I don’t know, you just click, you just know.

“I think we were a little bit older,” she said. “We weren’t in our 20s and we’d lived some life and we’d had a lot of relationships, you know, business and personal and social.

“I don’t know,” she said. “I feel like we were more developed. And I think, I don’t know, I…you hit it, we just had a feeling and we were right. It’s 30 years later.”
