Reba McEntire may be “in love” with her new boyfriend, “CSI: Miami” star Rex Linn, but that doesn’t mean she isn’t worried about other women taking her spot. The “Fancy” singer joked with Linn at the 54th Annual CMA Awards that he needs to stay socially-distanced from country superstar Carrie Underwood.
In the opening monologue, McEntire, 65, made sure to let Linn know the proper protocols for the awards ceremony. “Always stay six feet away from Carrie Underwood, that’s not social distancing those are Reba rules,” McEntire said.
After cracking the joke, the camera panned to Underwood as she laughed. Furthermore, Linn found the humor in the situation. Camera operators captured Linn sharing a laugh at McEntire’s wisecrack.
Reba McEntire Speaks out on Relationship With Rex Linn
McEntire may joke about Linn being interested in Underwood, however, in reality, she seems quite satisfied with her newfound love. She recently spoke out about being “in love” with the actor. While making an appearance on “Good Morning America” this week, McEntire revealed that she is falling head over heels for Linn.
One way that her relationships impacts McEntire’s life is through her songwriting.
“[Being in love] really inspires me to find love songs, to find happy songs. I’ve always been the queen of waltzes, the queen of sad songs, because I just gravitate to those kinds of songs,” McEntire said, according to Taste of Country.
Last month, McEntire first revealed that she was in a relationship with Linn. She explained how the two of them started dating earlier this year. Moreover, she spoke out about how they forged an immediate connection amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
“It’s good to have a person to talk to, laugh with, get into subjects about what’s going on,” she said. “Discussions about our past, our family, funny stories, him being an actor, me being an actress. And he’s very into my music. I’m very into his career. It’s just great getting to talk to somebody who I find very interesting, very funny, very smart, and is interested in me, too.”
