Reba McEntire and her “CSI: Miami” star boyfriend Rex Linn are making their first public appearance together as a couple. At the beginning of the 54th Annual CMA Awards show, McEntire gave a quick shout-out to her new man, who was seated close to the stage.

The “Fancy” singer first revealed that she and Linn were in a relationship last month. According to McEntire, the two first went on a date earlier this year in January. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic soon tossed a wrinkle in their relationship.

During an episode of her podcast “Living & Learning With Reba McEntire,” she said, “and then February on, it was the COVID pandemic, and we were talking, texting, FaceTime. And that’s a really good way to get to know people.”

She continued by explaining how the pandemic served to bring them closer. “It’s good to have a person to talk to, laugh with, get into subjects about what’s going on,” she said at the time. “Discussions about our past, our family, funny stories, him being an actor, me being an actress. And he’s very into my music. I’m very into his career. It’s just great getting to talk to somebody who I find very interesting, very funny, very smart, and is interested in me, too.”

Reba McEntire Is Falling ‘In Love’

Since first sharing the news of their relationship, things seem to continue progressing along swimmingly well. During an appearance on “Good Morning America,” the country music icon went on to confess that she is “in love” with Linn and that he makes her feel like a “giddy teenager” again.

“[Being in love] really inspires me to find love songs, to find happy songs. I’ve always been the queen of waltzes, the queen of sad songs, because I just gravitate to those kinds of songs,” McEntire said.

Not only is Reba falling head over heels for Linn, but also she has come up with a hilarious nickname for her new beau. In an Instagram post last month, she referred to Linn as her “Sugar Tot.”
