On Friday, CMT announced an initial list of celebrities that will present awards at the 2020 CMT Music Awards on Oct. 21, and superstar Taylor Swift highlights the selections.

Swift will serve as a presenter, along with numerous other celebrities and musicians. The list of presenters includes Katy Perry, Brandi Carlile, Demi Lovato, Diplo, Kelly Clarkson, Rob Thomas, Idina Menzel, Jessica Chastain, and Tanya Tucker.

As is the case with other awards shows during the COVID-19 pandemic, the CMT Music Awards have had to make some adjustments this year. However, many musicians and celebrities are not as busy as normal during the pandemic. So it has allowed the awards show to pull in some huge names.

“If we weren’t in a pandemic and we had movie stars sending in videotaped presentations, that’s not ideal. But everyone’s doing that now,” CMT Music Awards Executive Producer John Hamlin explained to the Tennessean. “It’s made more people available to us as presenters.”

Previously, CMT announced that country artist Kane Brown and actor Sarah Hyland would co-host the 2020 CMT Music Awards. In addition, CMT added country singer Ashley McBryde as a co-host.

Details On the 2020 CMT Music Awards’ Performances

The co-hosts are scheduled to be live with every awards winner during the event. Furthermore, co-hosts McBryde and Brown will each perform during the awards show, as well.

In addition to Brown and McBryde’s performances, other artists that will take the stage include Shania Twain, Ingrid Andress, Hardy, Sam Hunt, Caylee Hammack, Mickey Guyton, and Riley Green.  Furthermore, Morgan Wallen, Travis Denning,  Maren Morris, Ashley McBryde, Dan + Shay, Little Big Town and Luke Bryan will all perform during 2020 CMT Music Awards.

Also, CMT announced a few special collaborative performances for the awards show. Kelsea Ballerini will join Halsey, Jimmie Allen will play a song with Noah Cyrus, and Luke Combs and Brooks & Dunn are teaming up, as well.

Unfortunately, none of the performances for the 2020 CMT Music Awards will be played live. Each performance is pre-taped in different locations around Nashville, TN. Some of the locations include downtown’s Bicentennial Park, Sycamore Farms in Arrington, TN, Ruskin Cave in Dickson County, and the Estate at Cherokee Dock. The Estate is an events space that is the former home of country legend Reba McEntire.

On Sept. 23, the network announced the nominees for the fan-voted award show. Fans can still vote for each of the award show’s categories. In fact, you can vote right HERE.

The 2020 CMT Music Awards were originally scheduled for June. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the awards show will now air on Oct. 21 at 9 PM EST on CMT. Additionally, fans can watch on MTV, MTV2, Logo, Paramount Network, Pop TV, and TV Land.
