Just as it has for so many others, 2020 has taken its toll on Cody Johnson and his pals.
In the first photo, Johnson and a group of friends smile calmly at the camera. Everything appears to be going smoothly – at least in the beginning.
In the second photo, just as it did in 2020, chaos breaks out. Cody Johnson is captured laughing as his friends make silly faces and strike humorous poses. They definitely embody how wild 2020 has been for so many around the world.
Cody Johnson Releases Video with Reba McEntire
This year wasn’t all bad for Cody Johnson. He recently released a new music video collaboration with country music legend Reba McEntire. The two joined forces on the song “Dear Rodeo” – a track is close to the hearts of both singers. Both spent time in their lives trying to be rodeo stars before focusing on their music careers. Johnson rode bulls. McEntire was a barrel racer.
McEntire’s family has a history in rodeo. Her father and grandfather were both champion steer ropers. Her father was a three-time world champion steer roper. She planned to follow in their rodeo footsteps, but music came calling.
While trying to become a successful bull rider, Johnson played music on the side. He eventually left bull riding due to broken bones and deep bruises. Johnson worked as a prison guard as he continued to play music. He finally became a full-time musician and the rest is history.
Cody Johnson first recorded “Dear Rodeo” for his 2019 album, Ain’t Nothin’ To It, without McEntire’s vocals. She reportedly enjoyed the song so much that she decided to join Johnson for the new recording. Watch the video below:
