Cody Johnson Reveals He’s Dropping an 18-Song Album in 2021

After a big 2020 for Cody Johnson, the singer and songwriter is looking for more in 2021 with new music.

The “On My Way To You” singer just recently announced his intention to release a new studio album this year. “CoJo” as he is known to some, says his new album will have 18 new songs on it. While it is expected later this year, an exact date of the upcoming studio album release is not yet known.

His last studio album “Ain’t Nothin’ To It” is considered one of his finer works and did quite well on country music charts. But his last album came out in early 2019, making it over two years since the singer has put out new music to the public. Johnson obviously heard the cries from his fans as he revealed his new album in a recent interview with radio station Y100 San Antonio. In the interviews, Johnson says he is “sitting on” an 18-track album that will come out this year.

“We spent some time in Nashville with the studio guys I have been using for quite a long time,” he says in the interview. “This is by far the best and most versatile record I have ever done because I had the time.”
