A country music producer who worked with Dolly Parton, among others, was saved by Nashville police from the Christmas Day bombing.
David Malloy said he was out walking his dog early Christmas morning along Second Avenue, where he both lives and works.
Apparently, he heard the recording from a parked RV in the area. A Nashville police officer moved him out of the way just in the nick of time.
“The recording that I was hearing, I just assumed it was coming from the police car,” Malloy said.
Downtown Nashville Not Quiet On Christmas Day
Malloy notes that there’s not a quieter time to be in downtown Nashville than on Christmas Day. Not this one, though.
He said “the guy from the 21c Hotel was running outside the building saying we’ve got to evacuate.”
Then, there was an “officer was in the middle of the road of Second Avenue walking towards me, telling me to evacuate,” Malloy adds. “I said, ‘Why do I need to evacuate?’ And right then — boom.”
Three people were injured but no one died in the bombing. It is being tied to 63-year-old Anthony Warner as a suicide bombing.
“We were really, really fortunate that we didn’t get hurt,” Malloy said.
By the way, he says that his dog was uninjured in the incident.
