Forbes released its “30 under 30” list of top rising stars in the music industry. The breakout artists in country music, Gabby Barrett and Ingrid Andress, are included on the list. In this list, Forbes shows the most influential young artists under 30-years-old that top charts and shift culture. The list also includes popular hip hop artists Roddy Ricch, Lil Baby, and Doja Cat, alongside Ingrid Andress and Gabby Barrett.
The judges for this list include Mike Caren, CEO of Warner Music Group, songwriter Nija Charles, musician Jill Scott, and country music icon Tayler Swift. Swift likely accounted for the country music representation on the list in addition to the plethora of mainstream artists.
Ingrid Andress the New Country Star
While Ingrid Andress only came onto the country music scene in 2019, she already has taken the genre by storm. The twenty-nine-year-old released her debut album in March of 2020. Since then, she has garnered over 350 million streams from the album. Not to mention she co-wrote and co-produced every single song on the album. That is an extremely rare feat in the country music genre.
She received a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist and a CMA nomination for both Best New Artist and Song of the Year. Outside of her country music accomplishments, Ingrid Andress also wrote several pop songs for artists like Charli XCX, Bebe Rexha, and Fletcher.
Breakout Artist Gabby Barrett
Gabby Barrett came into the music world hot with her debut single, “I Hope,” which broke several records. After appearing on the 2018 American Idol and finishing as a finalist, she kicked off her recording career. “I Hope,” her smash hit debut single, made history by becoming the first debut single by a female to top the Billboard’s Country Streaming Songs list. The remix, which featured Charlie Puth, also made an appearance on Billboard’s Hot 100 list, peaking out at number 6. At just 20 years old, Gabby Barrett has an exciting career ahead of her.
