Known for his robust sense of humor, star singer Brad Paisley is one of country music’s top pranksters.
Country music artists touring with Paisley know to be wary of the singer’s many humorous antics. The “Whiskey Lullaby” and “When I Get Where I’m Going” singer has pulled pranks on some of the music industry’s brightest stars. Jewel, The Band Perry and Blake Shelton are just a few of the top music acts to fall victim to Paisley’s whims.
The prank war between Paisley and Shelton has been especially tense over the years with each getting their shots in. The hijinks began to escalate in 2011 with the two singers on a world tour together.
Paisley once loaded Shelton’s tour bus with raw chicken to create a rancid smell for anyone entering the bus.
Shelton once described the raw chicken prank as the worst that has ever been pulled on him. He said the disgusting smell of rotting raw chicken was enough to make anyone sick to their stomach.
“You couldn’t get on the bus without throwing up,” Shelton recalls in an interview. Brad Paisley also recalled the chicken prank in an interview with The Boot.
“I had one of those stick-up air fresheners, and we stuck it under the table in the front lounge (of Blake’s bus),” Paisley recalls. “We replaced the contents with raw chicken. It was not old chicken at that point. It had no odor whatsoever. By Sunday, they had found it, because they had to — the bus smelled like someone had died.”
Brad Paisley Pranks Blake Shelton During ‘Honey Bee’
Another infamous tour prank victimizing Shelton came during a performance of one of his signature songs.
While singing the hit song “Honey Bee” Brad Paisley sent out a large man dressed as a honey bee to interfere with the performance. For his part, Shelton appears unfazed by the giant honey bee swarming around him. Still, everyone at the concert, including Shelton himself, got a big laugh out of the prank.
