Leno and Brooks’ Friendship

Brooks and Leno are old friends. Upon Jay requesting Garth to perform at the premiere of the night-time show in 1993, Brooks’ was more than happy to take to the stage. This was the first episode of the famed Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

Garth Brooks entertained the audience and home viewers. He included songs, such as “One Night A Day,” among other tracks from his album In Pieces. He also performed “Ain’t Going Down (‘Til the Sun Comes Up).”

Brooks wasn’t only a part of Leno’s very first hosting gig on the popular TV show. The country icon also performed on the last episode of Jay Leno hosting The Tonight Show. It aired on Feb. 6, 2014.

The famous performer appeared on the show several times over the 22 years Leno has hosted “The Tonight Show.” Brooks paid tribute to the great TV show host. Garth called Leno, “the dearest friend to entertainment.”

“If you were an entertainer and needed a friend and a way to the people, you were always it,” Brooks said. “I love you with all my heart.”

When it comes to Leno’s final episode on the famous late-night show, Brooks was a part of a group of talented performers. He joined Billy Crystal, Sheryl Crow, and Oprah Winfrey as Leno told fans “farewell.”

Brooks’ performance of “The Dance” was requested by Jay. The song was the ending of Leno’s longtime position as the host of the show. The song represented a special message and celebration of what Leno brought to all his viewers and fans.
