Country Throwback: George Strait, Sheryl Crow Perform ‘Here For a Good Time’ in 2014

George Strait and Sheryl Crow were definitely “Here For a Good Time” as they were sure to finish Strait’s The Cowboy Rides Away Tour with a rowdy ruckus in Arlington, TX.

George Strait knows how to celebrate the ending of his unheard-of two-year tour with a perfectly suited name: The Cowboy Rides Away Tour. Altogether, there were 26 stops with the finale ending in Arlington, TX.

The Cowboy George Strait Rides Away in Final Tour Stop

On June 7, 2014, Strait was ready to leave it all on the stage, pull himself up by his bootstraps, and deliver the best darn show the “King of Country” could give his fans during the final show of his touring career.

The live performance was filled with emotion. Deep love and gratitude could be felt from the crowd with those feelings being returned right back from Strait. Lifelong fans tipped their cowboy hats to those touring days, but they will never stop listening to the legend’s music.

The Largest Indoor Concert in North America

A rip-roarin’ crowd of 104,793 attendees gives a hefty amount of “yee-hawing” expressing their excitement at the last stop on Strait’s 2013-2014 tour.

His final show at AT&T Stadium in Arlington was the largest indoor concert ever played in North America.

George Strait: the “King of Country Music”

“The King of Country Music” walks on stage to applause that is deafening. Audience members are welcoming the country icon. He played for over two-and-a-half hours. Sheryl Crow stopped by to perform with the country legend, including a duet of “Here for a Good Time.”

The live album is filled with 20 hits. “Run” (with Miranda Lambert), “Jackson” (with Martina McBride), and “All My Ex’s Live In Texas” (with Jason Aldean, Ray Benson, Kenny Chesney, Eric Church, Sheryl Crow, Vince Gill, Faith Hill, Alan Jackson, Miranda Lambert, and Martina McBride). The ending song of the album is, of course, “The Cowboy Rides Away.”

Other than Sheryl Crow, more of Strait’s famous friends join him on the tour. Jason Aldean and Eric Church had everyone boot-scoot-and boogie-ing the night away celebrating the music of the incomparable George Strait.
