Country Throwback: Miranda Lambert and Kenny Chesney Two-Step to George Strait Song on Stage in 2016

In 2016, back when concerts and touring were in full swing, Miranda Lambert, Kenny Chesney, and Sam Hunt all went on a massive tour together.

Miranda Lambert Shows Her Moves

The “Spread The Love Tour” took a stop at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Chesney performed a rendition of “Fireman,” by George Strait. Miranda Lambert was on stage with him during the performance.

When she did a quick little dance on her own, Chesney immediately jumped in to join her for a little mid-song two-step.

As soon as Chesney left the mic to start dancing the audience erupted in applause. The two eventually separated, he returned to the mic, and Lambert continued to show off her country dancing moves solo style.

Country Music Friendship

What some people may not know about the two country artists is that they have one of the longest-lasting friendships in country music.

When the two were doing publicity for the 2016 tour, they made it clear just how amazing it is to perform together.

In a 2016 article from Entertainment Weekly, the two said in an interview that it’s always easy to pick up where they left off. While they may not talk every day, it doesn’t matter.

“It’s a low-maintenance friendship. But I’ve learned a lot from him, and every tour I’ve been on, somebody’s learned from him. We take bits and pieces and apply it to our own gigs,” Miranda Lambert said.

Touring with Chesney may have taught her a thing or two, especially how to two-step on stage.

The friendship appeared to start when Chesney invited Miranda Lambert to be his opening act back in 2009. This is when she was just starting to pick up traction in the industry. It was at this time that she released “Revolution,” her third album.

It received great reviews and was even called “the best mainstream country album so far this year” by Entertainment Weekly.

The two sang many hits during the tour. One of which was also “You and Tequila,” which was one of Chesney’s biggest hits at the time.
