Morgan Wallen is certainly putting together a solid list of his own music. Back in 2019, though, he sang the Eagles’ “Take It Easy.”

Wallen was making an appearance on “The Bobby Bones Show” in December 2019. He was wearing his customary cutoff shirt and accompanied by two members of his band.

The cover of this classic rock song shows Wallen’s ability to take a song and make it his own. It’s a stripped-down acoustic version that resonates with simplicity.

Take a listen to Wallen sing “Take It Easy” at the 3:40 mark of his interview with Bones.

Wallen is currently supporting his most recent work as 2021 rolls out. He put out “Dangerous: The Double Album” in late 2020, taking the album beyond its initial one-album tracklist. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Wallen, like other musicians, was not able to go on tour.

He spent his extra time writing more songs. Eventually, Wallen had all of these additional songs and, after talking about it with his producer, added the new ones to the already-finished “Dangerous” lineup. It made the project into two albums, giving Wallen’s fans a lot more of his music to listen to right now.

When Morgan Wallen gets back out on the road, the fans probably will want to hear these songs sung live. He’ll be ready to oblige them, too.

Morgan Wallen Makes Billboard Hot Country History

In the meantime, Morgan Wallen kicked off December by making history on the “Billboard Hot Country Songs” chart. Two of his new songs simultaneously debuted in the chart’s Top Ten, which hasn’t happened in 62 years.

Wallen includes both of the tracks on his upcoming album, Dangerous: The Double Albumwhich dropped on Jan. 8. The song “Somebody’s Problem” debuted at No. 3 while “Still Goin’ Down” debuted at No. 8.

The album will feature 30 brand new songs in which Wallen wrote more than a dozen of them. Furthermore, the album includes songs written by other artists such as Jason Isbell, Eric Church, Hardy, Shane McAnally, and more.

Wallen released the hit track “More Than My Hometown” in May. It’s currently No. 2 on the “Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.” In November, the song reached No. 1 on the “Billboard Country Airplay chart.” He also received the title of “New Artist of the Year” at the CMA Awards.

Wallen Gets Second Chance on ‘Saturday Night Live’

Wallen ended 2020 on a high note with his Dec. 5 performance on “Saturday Night Live.”

Initially, Wallen was set to perform on an earlier episode, but “SNL” removed him after photos surfaced showing Wallen failing to follow proper COVID-19 protocol.

He apologized for his behavior, writing, “I’m not positive for COVID, but my actions this past weekend were pretty short-sighted, and they’ve obviously affected my long-term goals and my dreams.” Wallen continued, “I respect the show’s decision because I know that I put them in jeopardy.”
