Lights stream down on country music legend Reba McEntire and she delivers in this throwback moment to 1990 and sings “Rumor Has It.”

McEntire performs this song while on tour at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas. Last August, she released this entire concert on YouTube with an added heartfelt touch.

The concert release was done in memory of McEntire’s original band members who were killed in a plane crash in March 1991. They included road manager Jim Hammon and band members Chris Austin, Kirk Cappello, Joey Cigainero, Paula Kay Evans, Terry Jackson, Anthony Saputo, and Michael Thomas.

“This show is very special to me because it features my friends that we lost in a plane crash 29 years ago,” Reba McEntire said in a press release. “Their love for music and incredible talents deserve to be seen again, and I’m so glad that we’re getting the chance to stream this concert for the first time ever.

“I can’t wait to watch it and I hope they will feel all the love we still have for them.”

Reba McEntire Releases ‘Rumor Has It’ Album In 1990

Reba McEntire was featuring the title song for her “Rumor Has It” album, which was released on Sept. 4, 1990. The album reached No. 2 on the Billboard country album charts.

Actually, “Fancy” was the song that skyrocketed off this McEntire release. It became one of McEntire’s signature songs, reaching No. 27 on CMT’s list of the 100 Greatest Country Songs. “Rumor Has It,” written by Bruce Burch, Vern Dant, and
Larry Shell topped off at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot Country singles chart.

The song speaks of a woman overhearing scuttlebutt about her man in a way that’s not flattering to her ears.

I overheard a conversation your name was mentioned in
But they didn’t talk about us, only her again
I didn’t want to listen but I hung on every word
They said some things I wish I hadn’t heard

Rumor has it she has you
Rumor has it you love her too
Talk is cheap but the price is high when it’s true
Rumor has it she has you

This town’s so small a whisper can be heard a mile away
And people here will gossip when there’s nothing else to say
I wouldn’t have believed my ears but I see it in your eyes
The stories going ’round this town aren’t lies

Rumor has it she has you
Rumor has it you love her too
Talk is cheap but the price is high when it’s true
Rumor has it she has you

Whoa, rumor has it she has you”

McEntire Sends Out Holiday Wishes After Tough 2020

Prior to Christmas and New Year’s Day, she took time to send out best wishes for the holiday season after what has been quite a year.

On Christmas morning, Reba McEntire took to social media to post a video in which she addressed her fans and followers.

“Hey everyone, Reba here, I just wanted to say Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you,” she began.

McEntire then looked forward to the coming year.

“Please stay safe and healthy so we can all get together in 2021,” she said. “This has been a booger bear of a year, and I’m very thankful and grateful we got through it.”

Like many people in the country, Reba McEntire was ready to close the book on 2020.

“It’s coming to a close, and we can start looking forward and thinking positively for the next year,” she said.
