Travis Tritt honors his “musical hero,” country music legend, Kenny Rogers with a cover of “Sweet Music Man.”

After Rogers passed in March of last year, country musicians from all over honored him in their own ways. Jake Owen, Kelsea Ballerini and Vince Gill all performed Kenny rogers covers in remembrance of the country legend. However, there was one tribute that was even more heartwarming than the rest. Musician Travis Tritt shared a video of him covering Rogers song, “Sweet Music Man.”

What made Tritt’s cover so special? Rogers actually wrote the song with Waylon Jennings in mind – Tritt’s close friend and mentor. Tritt shared the cover in honor of both of his musical heroes. With nothing more than his guitar to back him up, Tritt covered “Sweet Music Man” acoustically.

Along with the video, Tritt wrote, “… A tribute to my friend – just my small way of remembering @_KennyRogers. This is a song that Kenny wrote with Waylon Jennings (another musical hero) in mind. #RIPKennyRogers”

After the song, Travis says “Rest in Peace Kenny Rogers.”

Travis Tritt Teases New Single On Social Media

In an Instagram post, Tritt shared that he’s filming a music video for his upcoming single, “Smoke In A Bar.” Tritt shared a photo of a motorcycle on the road. Along with the photo, we wrote, “Spent the last two days shooting my video for the new upcoming single called “Smoke In A Bar.” Can you guess where we are?”

Although Tritt hasn’t released any more details about the song, he did share an experience he had while filming his music video. Tritt shared a photo of himself with retired Army Ranger, Craig McKay. Along with the photo, Tritt wrote, “After my video shoot wrapped tonight, I had the privilege of meeting and talking with retired Army Ranger, Craig McKay. I so enjoy getting to meet and know military veterans, all of which I consider to be American heroes.”

In conclusion, Travis Tritt is not only providing us with some new music this year, but he’s also hyping our troops!
