Country Throwback: Watch Chris Stapleton Perform ‘Without Your Love’ During 2012 Nashville Show

Country music singers know that the best way to try out new material is in front of a crowd. An unknown named Chris Stapleton is doing this in 2012.

During an appearance at the Gilroy in Clarksville, Tennessee, Stapleton performs “Without Your Love.” His appearance is part of an area radio station’s unplugged summer concert series.

It’s a pretty basic stage set-up for him: a microphone, an amp, and his guitar all working in tandem with his voice.

Take a look at a younger Stapleton performing this song.

Chris Stapleton Album Reaches No. 1 On Country Charts

Since that performance in 2012, Stapleton has gone on to find fame and fortune in the country music world.

His latest album, “Starting Over,” actually debuted at the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Top Country Charts.

Stapleton announced the album’s release to his followers on Twitter.

In addition to the announcement, Stapleton added that he hoped his fans would receive hope and healing through his music.

“In my life when I’ve needed strength, love, peace, joy, friendship, focus, courage, understanding, hope, or healing I’ve found those things in music,” he writes in a typed note. “As you listen, I pray you find some of those things here. May we all look to the best of who we’ve been & the promise of who we can be. Here’s to starting over.”

The long-awaited album features 11 new songs that Stapleton co-wrote. The album also includes three covers: John Fogerty’s “Joy Of My Life” and Guy Clark’s “Worry B Gone” and “Old Friends.” Morgane, Stapelton’s wife sings background vocals on the lead single, “Starting Over.”

Stapleton recorded most of the album at Nashville’s historic RCA Studio AStarting Over, follows Stapleton’s 2017 albums, From A Room: Volume 1 and From A Room: Volume 2, both of which were No. 1.

Quarantine seems like it’s been good for the Stapleton family. He and his wife are parents of five and live on a 300-acre farm in Nashville. In a recent interview, Stapleton said the time had given him a chance to focus on music and think about what he wanted to say. There’s a good chance that Starting Over represents that.
