Country Throwback: Watch Moment Charlie Daniels Found Out About Hall of Fame Induction

Charlie Daniels was brought to tears after learning he’s inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. It was a moment full of emotion then, and honestly, the video still brings back those same emotions today.

A person truly is a gift to the world when they can enjoy decades of fame and success while still remaining humble. Daniels is the exact gift we need in this world. This is proven by a throwback video of him learning he’d be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.

In 2016, The Country Music Association decided it was time to honor Daniels for his musical contributions. However, they didn’t want to notify him in any old way. Instead, they decided to surprise him with the news after scheduling a fake photoshoot. Daniels shared a video of the entire event on his Facebook page. During the video, CMA CEO, Sarah Trahern, gradually reveals the news to an unsuspecting Daniels and his wife, Hazel.

“So you thought you were going to do a photoshoot. I’m going to tell you that you are being inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame,” says Trahern.

As soon as Daniels hears the news he asks “Are you serious?” before bursting into tears and holding his wife.

Charlie Daniels Was Always A Music Prodigy

By the time Daniels was in high school, he could play multiple instruments. Only a few years later, he was playing the guitar and fiddle for legendary artists including Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, and the Marshall Tucker Band. At a young age, Daniels was already a key player in the music industry. However, it wasn’t until he began recording songs for himself that he received the recognition he truly deserved.

Since then, Daniels has reached over 13.5 million record sales, with nine Gold, Platinum, and Multi-Platinum albums. Additionally, the legend has 30 singles on the Billboard charts. Especially, his most famous number one hit, “The Devil Went Down To Georgia.” He became a member of the Grand Ole Opry member in 2007. And now, he can enjoy his well-deserved spot at the Country Music Hall of Fame.
