During Dierks Bentley’s set at the Chicago’s Windy City Smokeout on July 10, those lucky enough to be in attendance were moved to tears when he brought his 12-year-old daughter to join him in singing one of his hit songs.

Evie, 12, is Bentley’s oldest child. During the performance, she joined her dad in a heartwarming rendition of Bentley’s “Different for Girls.” Although she’s not even a teenager yet, Evie took the stage as if she was an old pro, showing off her impressive voice and talent. It was evident that talent runs in the family.

Along with Elle King, Bentley originally released “Different for Girls” in 2016 as the second single from his album, Black. The track went to the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Country Airplay chart. It also won Vocal Event of the Year at the 2016 CMA Awards. Further, it was nominated for the 2017 Grammy Award for Best Country Duo/Group Performance.

After the performance with Evie, guaranteed to move you to tears, Bentley shared several snaps from the concert via his Instagram, starting with a picture of himself and his eldest on stage.

“Hard to put into words how much we’ve missed this as a band and crew… thanks for coming out Chicago,” he wrote in the caption. “You were legendary. Just a few more weeks until the #BeersOnMe tour kicks off.”

Dierks Bentley: Proud Girl Dad

However, his daughter’s grace and ease on stage could be attributed to the fact that this wasn’t her first rodeo. She joined her dad to perform “Traveling Light” at his annual Seven Peaks Music Festival in Colorado in 2019.

Before then, in 2012, she performed at the Ryman Auditorium to sing “I’m Thinking of You” when she was just three years old. She also appeared on stage during a tour stop in Nashville earlier that year. Not bad for a toddler.

It’s safe to say this probably won’t be Evie’s last performance with her dad. Dierks Bentley is preparing to embark on his Beers On Me Tour on Aug. 13 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He’ll be traveling across the country before concluding on Oct. 22 in Arkansas.

Further, Riley Green and Parker McCollum will join Bentley for the tour, which is also named after a new song. “I wrote a song a few months back with some friends called ‘Beers On Me’ that inspired this year’s tour name,” he said in a statement.

“It’s a pretty simple recipe for summer…get your friends together, have a round or two, and dive into some great Country music. That’s exactly what Riley, Parker, and I plan on doing out there on the road with our fans. Both these guys are road warriors and great performers that are going to help us get this summer fired up.”
