New year, new goals! Country singer and songwriter Dierks Bentley announced during his latest interview that his resolution for 2022 is to finally finish his latest record.

While chatting with AP Entertainment, Dierks Bentley spoke about his 2022 goals. “I’m reflecting on finishing my record. It’s been my resolution for last year and this year,” the country superstar declared. He also revealed that he has spent a lot of time working on the album and trying to get it right.

Dierks Bentley then shared that he thinks he will get the album done in 2022. “[I’m] feeling pretty good about it,” he explained. During a November 2021 interview with Taste of Country, the country singer said he will release a new album sometime this year. Since releasing his 2018 album The Mountain, Bentley has shared two singles, Gone and Beers on Me.

While chatting about his 10th studio album, Dierks Bentley described the album as being a whole different sound. “It’s leaning a little more traditional in some ways.”

Dierks Bentley also raved about his 2018 album. “It’s been tough to come down off the Mountain. I have so much love for the album. Love the way we made it. And I still love being in those mountains.”

Dierks Bentley Opens Up About His Single ‘Gone’

During an interview with Good Morning America last summer, Dierks Bentley stated that his single Gone is considered quite special to him. The song was recorded and released during the worldwide health crisis.

“It’s probably the one word that really summed up the year for most people,” Dierks Bentley stated. “But then I love that the song was actually about a relationship. Because I don’t think anyone wants to drive around listening to a song about COVID.”

Dierks Bentley also spoke about how he wished there was a “sure-fire” way to make a hit single. “It just has to be a level of authenticity mixed in with the right hook and melody and lyrics that touch your heart. It’s a formula that you can’t make up mathematically. You just have to trust your act when you hear something. Believe in it and hope other people feel the same way.”

Dierks Bentley went on to discuss his Beers on Me tour, which he said was filled with a lot of celebrating, fun, and a sense of euphoria. “It’s just about going out there and just being present with the fans. It’s kind of like a victory lap. We made it through this and we’re out of the other side again. And live music is happening and we’re on the road.”

Bentley went on to add that 2021 marked the 18th anniversary of his self-titled debut album and his first number-one single, which was What Was I Thinkin.
