Another year is almost in the books and People Magazine has released their People of the Year. Of course, Dolly Parton is a cover star on the list.

That’s right, Dolly is going on the cover of People for the end of the year list. This is just another honor in a long line that the country music legend has received. Now, there are a lot of other things that Parton does with her time. While music is the first thing folks think of, she has done so much for charities with her philanthropy.

Here is what People Magazine had to say about Dolly Parton:

Dolly Parton has always done her part to help others through efforts like her Imagination Library, which to date has given more than 160 million books to kids in need. Early in the pandemic she saw another way to help, donating $1 million to Vanderbilt University Medical Center to support COVID-19 research, which resulted in the Moderna vaccine that became widely available this year.

Parton said, “It makes my heart feel good to know that I can do something for somebody else.” That’s Dolly for ya. She is always doing something for someone else, even behind-the-scenes. There is a lot that many folks might not even know about. This honor on the People of the Year list feels like something she should be a part of every year, doesn’t it?

Over the years, Dolly Parton has done a lot. In her career, she became one of the most iconic and recognizable figures in country music. She has transcended her genre and become an American icon in the process. There isn’t much that she hasn’t done in life.

Dolly Parton Shares Holiday Throwback

One of the best parts about Dolly Parton is the great things she shares with fans. With Thanksgiving being last week, Dolly had to share a few things with fans. First, she posted an old photo of her and her husband Carl Dean. He isn’t one for the spotlight, so any pictures are rare. Parton met Dean in Nashville basically as soon as she got to town. They hit it off and have been together ever since.

Of course, the Queen of Country Music had to share a Thanksgiving recipe as well. Every good southern cook has a strong gravy game. Parton is no different. She cooked up some sausage patties and biscuits and made sure to show fans how to make her milk gravy.

Dolly Parton just continues to be an inspiration and a role model for so many. Her honor of being on the People of the Year list is well deserved. From music to her own charities, and more, she seems to do it all without much effort.
