Dolly Parton is ready for Christmas before Halloween!

What Dolly Parton Shared

The “Jolene” hitmaker shared a throwback photo from the 80’s of her dressed as Santa Claus. “Who else is ready to cuddle up and cozy down around the tree?!” she wrote. “It’s just two months until Christmas.”

Parton referenced her new song off of her first Christmas album in thirty years, A Holly Dolly Christmas. “Cuddle Up, Cozy Down Christmas” is a duet with Michael Bublé. He called it an “incredible honor” to duet with her.

Dolly and Christmas

Parton told The Bobby Bones Show that Christmas is her favorite holiday. Although, she does decorate her house for every holiday. The day after Thanksgiving she will begin decorating for Christmas and keeps them up through her birthday (January 19). What does one get Parton? She is not high class, she loves receiving costume jewelry, makeup, and bags for gifts.

As for her Christmas album, she released A Holly Dolly Christmas earlier this month that hit No. 1 on both the Billboard Country and Holiday Charts. The record also features Billy Ray Cyrus, Miley Cyrus, Jimmy Fallon, and Willie Nelson. Additionally, she has a duet with her brother, Randy, who she calls the family’s “Christmas baby.”

This marked Parton’s third Christmas album after releasing Home For Christmas in 1990 and Once Upon A Christmas with Kenny Rogers in 1985.

Not only did Parton release a Christmas album, but she is also gearing up to release a holiday film. The Netflix release, Dolly Parton’s Christmas On The Square will release on November 22.

The film follows Regina Fuller, played by Christine Baranski, who has returned to her hometown after her father’s death. She is a nasty, rich, woman who is ready to evict most of the townspeople right before Christmas and sell the land to a mall developer. Her guardian angel, played by Parton, tries to move her heart and mind. Fuller reconnects with an old flame and her old neighbors.

“This is the story about family, love, and how a small town’s Christmas spirit can warm even the coldest of hearts,” the movie description says.

The musical also featured Jenifer Lewis, and Treat Williams. The musical is directed and choreographed by three-time Emmy and Golden Globe winner Debbie Allen.
