Dolly Parton Drops New ‘Monday Motivation’ Post With Silhouette Spotlight Photo

Kicking off the new week with some “Monday Motivation,” Dolly Parton took to her social media account to share some amazing advice. 

“If you don’t like the road you’re walking, start paving another one,” Dolly Parton captions the photo, which features a silhouette spotlight of herself. 

The new motivational post comes just days after Dolly Parton announced her new perfume, “Dolly – Scent from Above.” The new fragrance is available on HSN. “Having my own perfume has always been a dream of mine, bandits finally HERE!” 

Dolly Parton Announces Support for Britney Spears Amid Conservatorship Battle

During her appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, Dolly Parton Spoke about Britney Spears and her conservatorship battle. “Well, I try not to get involved in other people’s business. I think [Britney Spears is] a wonderful girl. And I only wish her the best.” Dolly states. She also says she understand Britney’s situation as she went through a lot in her early days of trying to get out on her own. 

Dolly Parton also discusses her six-year battle with former collaborator, Porter Wagoner. The collaborator previously sued Parton for breach of contract. He was seeking $3 million. “So I understand where [Britney is] coming from and how she feels. I hope that all turns out the way that should.”

Dolly Reflects on Her Music Career Through the Years

In a 2019 interview with Good Morning America, Dolly Parton opens up about her music career over the years. “It’s just a country Cinderella story, really,” Parton explains. She also states that she used to wonder what her life might be like when she was older and when she looked back on her life. 

“It feels good that I have been able to see so many dreams come true,” Dolly reveals. Also during the interview, Parton admits that she doesn’t actually know how many songs she has written over the years. “When people say ‘How many?’ I say, ‘I don’t know. I don’t count them. I’ve written thousands of songs.”

Dolly also recalls when she was younger and how everything to her was music. “I still write [songs]. I still have to have my yellow legal pads and my cassette player. And I have to order them off eBay.”

Dolly also admits that she has struggled with depression. “I don’t think people can live in this world without going through times like that,” Parton states. “People always look at me, they always say, ‘Oh, you just seem to be so happy.’ I said, ‘That’s the Botox.”

Parton also describes herself as a very sensitive person and feels everything to the core. “I could totally relate to how people do get on drugs or alcohol. How people do commit suicide. Because when you’re a tender, loving, caring, sensitive person, you feel like you can only stand so much heartache and sorrow.”
