Dolly Parton-Inspired Ice Cream Flavor Coming Soon to Benefit Imagination Library

Being a Dolly Parton fan just got sweeter. The ice cream company, Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream, has partnered with the queen of country, Dolly Parton, on a new flavor inspired by Parton. Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream new flavor will also benefit Parton’s Imagination Library.

Parton started her Imagination Library 26 years ago to provide books every month to children from birth to age five. Since its opening, the program has given nearly 155 million books to young children across the country.

Parton’s collaboration with the ice cream company is just one of the many projects Parton has been involved with. The legend recently won another Grammy Award, starred in a Super Bowl commercial, and donated $1 million to the coronavirus vaccine. Parton’s hustle is obviously unstoppable.

In 2020, Parton released the song “When Life Is Good Again,” along with an accompanying music video. She followed it up with a holiday album, A Holly Dolly Christmas. She also partnered with journalist and author Robert K. Oermann for the book Songteller: My Life in Lyrics. She also made a television appearance when in the Netflix movie Dolly Parton’s Christmas on the Square.

Dolly Parton’s Ice Cream Collab Is Latest in String of Projects

Jeni’s hasn’t announced what the flavor will be or when it will be released. However, the company said that it’s “specially made for Dolly Parton.” They’re also letting customers sign up to be notified when the announcement is made. Jeni’s sent fans into a frenzy when they shared a portrait of Parton on Twitter to make the initial announcement.

Jeni Britton Bauer, an American ice cream maker, entrepreneur, and author, founded the ice cream brand in 20. She won a James Beard Award in 2012 for her ice cream. With 47 stores nationwide, you can search by your ZIP code to find the closest location to you.

In 2007, Ben & Jerry’s partnered with another country music legend when they released a peach cobbler flavor with Willie Nelson. The ice cream was combined with peach swirl, peach chunks, and bits of crunchy cinnamon-sugar shortbread.

According to Ben & Jerry’s public-relations executive Rob Michalak, the flavor claimed the No. 2 spot on their Top 10 regular flavors list. The Willie Nelson flavor got attention nationally when it won a”taste-off” against Stephen Colbert’s “AmeriCone Dream” on his late-night show. The brand has also created new flavors based on icons such as Jerry Garcia, Phish, and Dave Matthews Band.
