Dolly Parton is embracing the Halloween spirit with a fantastic throwback picture. The country superstar and philanthropist took to Twitter earlier today to wish her followers a Happy Halloween and show off an old hairdo that was iconically her.
“Happy halloween, pumpkin” she wrote in the tweet. In the picture, you can see the singer smiling wide with a jack-o-lantern in hand. You may have to click on the picture to see the full view.
Dolly Parton looks goregous in the pic, and the fans in the replies think so as well.
“Happy Halloween to you & yours!! Have a wonderful evening!!” one fan wrote.
Dolly Parton Amongst the Majority of Americans Celebrating Halloween
Parton is amongst the many today celebrating Halloween. According to a new statistic by the National Retail Federation, Halloween consumers have spent over $10 billion on the holiday, which is a new record. There’s something about Halloween that just brings out the cheer.
According to more stats, 69% of people are handing out candy this year, 47% of people are dressing up, and 44% of people are pumpkin carving.
“Americans plan to spend more than ever to make this Halloween a memorable one,” NRF President and CEO Matthew Shay said in a statement. “Retailers have implemented a number of measures, such as bringing in Halloween products earlier than normal, to ensure their shelves are stocked with seasonal candy, décor, and other items ahead of this important holiday.”
After Halloween, Parton Prepares for Christmas
Parton looked fantastic in that old Halloween look, but she’s also a huge fan of Christmas. The icon released her upcoming Holiday schedule, which is positively jam-packed. It shouldn’t come as a surprise to Dolly Parton fans that she’s going big.
Last year, she released a Christmas Album, a Christmas Movie, and a Christmas concert special.
This year, Dollywood is back open once more meaning she’s bringing back her annual Christmas festival. Since she had to skip last year due to COVID-19, it’s go big or go home for Parton. Apparently, she’s pulling out all the stops to make this year’s Christmas festival the best yet.
“It is that time of year, and people expect something great, and they get it,” she told WKRN about her annual festival. “It’s like a winter wonderland up there.”
The festival kicks of on November 6th and will last through the Holiday Season. Dollywood is also planning major expansions soon, so fans of the park should keep an eye out.
“We have all these lights. I think they tell me there’s over five million, but it looks like a million kazillion trillion,” she said. It sounds like quite the festival and if its anything like the previous years, it’ll be an absolute treat.
