Dolly Parton Promises ‘Everything is Going to Be Okay’ in First-Ever TikTok

If you’re ever looking for a bright light in all the darkness, just look toward Dolly Parton. Most of the time, you’ll find her doing something to make the world a better place. Her music brings joy to millions of fans around the world. However, that’s only the beginning. She created hundreds of jobs with Dollywood. Additionally, she sends thousands of books to children across the country every year. More recently, Dolly donated a million dollars to vaccine research. Now, Dolly is on TikTok.

Many of us older folks turn our noses up at the social media platform. However, many young people spend a considerable amount of time on the app. Additionally, they’re discovering a whole new world of music. At the same time, country legends like Clay Walker and Randy Travis have joined the app to connect with a new generation of fans. It seems that Dolly Parton has finally decided to make her debut on the app. Check out her first TikTok post below.

Dolly Parton starts the video with a message that we all need to hear. “I just dropped in to say everything’s going to be okay and to keep the faith.” Dolly also wanted to remind her followers that she would be live on the app. She said, “I’ll be on tonight reading a story at seven o’clock Eastern Time.”

Dolly Parton ended the video with a short song telling whoever is watching that she believes in them. Dolly might just be the most wholesome person on the internet. We need more people like her in this world.

Dolly Parton: Humble, Homespun, and Wholesome

Dolly Parton’s TikTok debut is a great example of why so many people love her. However, it is just a glimpse at a much bigger picture.

Dolly Parton dropped her debut album in 1967, since then she has carved a path to the top of country music. In fact, many people call her the Queen of Country. However, she doesn’t really like the title. While she appreciates the praise, she doesn’t think she’s earned the title of Queen. To her, the crown belongs to Loretta Lynn or Kitty Wells.

Earlier this year, Tennessee lawmakers proposed a bill that would allow them to erect a statue of Dolly Parton in front of the state’s capitol building. However, Dolly didn’t want it to happen. Again, she was grateful for the praise but didn’t think it was right. About that, she said, “Given all that is going on in the world, I don’t think putting me on a pedestal is appropriate at this time. I hope, though that somewhere down the road several years from now or perhaps after I’m gone if you still feel I deserve it, then I’m certain I will stand proud in our great state capitol as a grateful Tennessean.”
