Legendary country music singer and songwriter Dolly Parton is everywhere these days as the holiday season falls upon us. The iconic singer, who has been in the music industry spotlight for decades, recently sat down for a candid interview with RuPaul. The interview will be featured in Marie Claire Magazine for their 2020 holiday edition.
Parton recently released “Holly Dolly Christmas” in early October, her 47th solo studio album. Among the topics she and RuPaul discuss during the interview are songwriting, morning routines and, of course, wigs.
Dolly Parton Says Energy Comes From Fan Support
RuPaul and Parton also touch on the subject of energy and what keeps them going through long days with little sleep. Parton compares herself to the Energizer Bunny and says she is motivated by making others happy.
“Well, I’m energized by just what I do,” she says in the interview. “It’s like, work begets work, energy begets energy. I just really stay alive because I just live on creative and spiritual energy. I’m like the little Energizer Bunny.
Parton goes on to say she is driven by her fans and knowing that she is loved by many. She says knowing that people care about her and her work provides plenty of energy when the going gets tough. Now 74-years-old, the country queen is in demand more than ever, adding even more motivation and energy to her character.
“I’m just recharged by the excitement of being able to still be active and to still be able to create stuff and to be still in demand,” she says. “That’s exciting to me, that I have all these fans that care about me, and I love us sharing that kind of love and that kind of energy. You know how that feels. People love you. And that’s a great feeling to know that people care about you, and so it kind of generates its own kind of energy.”
