Dolly Parton is spreading Christmas cheer everywhere these days. Most recently, the country music legend shared a hysterical Christmas card of herself with Jimmy Fallon on Twitter.
The card is a funny exchange between two performers who have joined forces to remake a classic holiday song.
Parton collaborated with “The Tonight Show” host on a duet of “All I Want for Christmas is You” for her holiday album, “A Holly Dolly Christmas.” The song allows the singer to showcase her sense of humor; it also allows the comedian to show off his singing chops. The result is a unique version of Mariah Carey’s popular Christmas tune.
The duet came about after Fallon suggested Parton sing the song on his show awhile back. “Jimmy Fallon, a couple of years ago, I was on his show around Christmas,” Parton previously explained. “And he asked me to sing that and I didn’t know it and I felt so bad. So I went and learned it and I was just going to put it on my album and then I went, ‘I’ll ask Jimmy Fallon to sing it with me!’ And he said, yes. So I’m really excited about that.”
“A Holly Dolly Christmas” also has Parton collaborating with several other artists, including Willie Nelson, Michael Buble, Billy Ray Cyrus, Miley Cyrus and her younger brother, Randy Parton.
Dolly Parton Celebrates Holiday Season
In addition to the album, Dolly Parton has shared her special version of Christmas cheer with a Netflix special entitled, “Christmas on the Square,” as well as performances during the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and Christmas in Rockefeller Center. Her TV special, “A Holly Dolly Christmas,” which aired Dec. 6, was a ratings success. Also, her amusement park, Dollywood, is all decked out for the holiday season.
