For fans of Eric Church, New Music Friday is going to be a special one tomorrow.

Church announced today that his new song, “Heart on Fire” will be released tomorrow. It is one of the two songs on his newest upcoming project that he wrote himself. The other one is “Jenny,” which has already been released.

The song is going to set the tone for the entire album, “Heart.” It is reminiscent of some of his older songs like “Desperate Man.”

“A turned up radio but the static was heavy / Couldn’t make out any words but ‘take me to the levy’ / That look on your face was full of wild desire / I’m soakin’ my soul in gas and settin’ my heart on fire.”

The news of a new Church song is quite literally setting his fan’s hearts on fire.

Upcoming Releases

Church has left fans speculating for what his next move was going to be for a bit.

“Heart on Fire” will be part of the album called “Heart.” It is set to come out on April 16.

While news of the album is exciting, it is just the tip of Church’s music release. Church is coming out with three albums around the same time called “Heart,” “&,” and “Soul.” Fans have already heard songs from each of the albums as a little teaser. For Church, these songs are no joke. He’s calling them the greatest collection of songs in his whole career.

It was a process to understand and organize a huge number of songs. They were all waiting to find a home and Church was hesitant to leave any out of the mix.

“The interesting thing about this process is that Jay kept asking me the last three or four days, ‘Are we done?’ and at that time I didn’t know what the project was. I kept saying ‘God, this is going to be really hard. There’s a lot here. Is this a double album? And if it’s a double album, how do we leave out these five or six songs?’ Church said, according to Whiskey Riff.

Triple-Album Release

Releasing three albums in the same month is no small task. It calls into question, will each song be of the typical Eric Church quality?

“I am the hardest critic on making sure every song deserves to be on the record, and I beat this thing to death going ‘this can’t be that good.’ But, it was just a special, special time and a special, special project that I think will be among our best,” Church said.

That being said, the release is just a few months away. The pre-order will begin tomorrow. “Heart” will come out on April 16 and “Soul” will come out on April 23. The album “&” is only going to be available on vinyl. It will be exclusive to Church Choir members and will be released on April 20.

Put it all together and his massive three-album release spells out “Heart & Soul.” Given what Church has said so far, it seems like he put a lot of that into this release.

Super Bowl LV

There’s going to be a lot of Eric Church in the next few months. Besides his new song tomorrow and his upcoming spring music release, he will also perform at the Super Bowl next Sunday, Feb. 7.

He will be performing “The Star-Spangled Banner” alongside Jazmine Sullivan. In the past, he has said he never wanted to perform the national anthem.

So what made him change his mind to sing it at one of the most watched events of the entire year?

It was the opportunity to get to sing alongside singer/songwriter Jazmine Sullivan.

“I’ve not met her yet. She may be the best singer. I was floored. I’m a fan. I’ve went in and listened to everything she did. And I had heard her name, but full disclosure, I had not listened,” Church told People.

He said that after hearing her voice it was clear to him he couldn’t pass on the opportunity.
