Garth Brooks Reveals He Has Been Writing with Ashley McBryde, Alter Ego Chris Gaines Will Release Album

Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood, like us all, have had it rough in quarantine. However, one thing about Garth is that when he comes back, he comes back strong. In the most recent episode of Inside Studio G, he made some big announcements.

First, and most excitingly, Garth Brooks has been writing with Ashley McBryde. During the show, he said that he and McBryde were teaming up with Brooks’ songwriting partner Mitch Rossel. All three of those artists can pen a killer song. It wouldn’t be a stretch to say that McBryde is one of the best singer-songwriters in country music today. At the same time, Garth has co-written some of his best releases. Brooks has co-writing credits on songs like “The Beaches of Cheyenne,” “If Tomorrow Never Comes,” and “Unanswered Prayers.” Rossel penned “Ask Me How I Know,” which was a chart-topper for Brooks.

During the show, Garth Brooks said that he and Rossel mostly just watched McBryde work her songwriting magic. It’s no secret that Garth is a member of the McBryde Trybe. In fact, he released a rendition of her song “Girl Goin’ Nowhere,” on his 2018 album The Anthology, Part III: Live. His cut was titled “Guy Goin’ Nowhere.”

There’s no way that these writing sessions don’t produce some amazing songs. McBryde is a master of her craft. Teaming up with Garth Brooks and Rossel can only bolster her already otherworldly writing chops. About what the writing session produced Brooks only said that it was “stone country.” Then again, how could it be anything else?

Garth Brooks Announces the Return of Chris Gaines

Garth Brooks also announced that his 1999 release The Life of Chris Gaines will be coming back. During the show, he said that the album will be hitting digital, vinyl, and just about any other format fans could ask for. At the same time, unreleased Chris Gaines material will be hitting the market. So, for those who loved the original release, there is more to come.

The upcoming re-release of the divisive Garth Brooks album definitely has fans talking. At the moment, the album is hard to find online. There are some covers of Chris Gaines tunes floating around. However, finding the original cuts is a little tougher. Then again, Garth isn’t big on letting his music go to streaming platforms. Just ask any of his fans who have Spotify.

So, if you’ve never experienced The Life of Chris Gaines, get ready. It’ll be available all over the place before too long.
