Garth Brooks just dropped the complete Fun album today and it boasts quite a collection of songs. He’s even calling out one song that might be fit for a King, the King of Country that is.

Garth Brooks has been in the music business for more than 30 years now, so he knows a good song when he hears one. CMT.com reports that he’s impressed with one song in particular and feels like it could’ve been on a George Strait album.

“There’s a lot of stuff like ‘The Road I’m On,’ ‘(A Hard Way to Make an) Easy Livin’ and ‘That’s What Cowboys Do’ that are pretty much your life now and your life when you started this thing,” Brooks says. “‘That’s What Cowboys Do’ — that song right there could’ve been on a George Strait record in 1983. It just feels good.”

Garth Brooks Looked Up to George Strait

Brooks wanted to be Strait when he first started. But it was his producer, Allen Reynolds, that told him that no one can ever be Strait. He pulled Brooks out of the recording booth and said just focus on being yourself. It’s a good thing that Brooks was set on the right path because he has quite a successful career.

The icon is a role model in his own right. Wearing his signature misshapen cowboy hat and collection of colorful clothing has influenced country music, and of course along with his lyrics.

Brooks’ music has a way of delivering a heavy message through his words mixed with music. It’s songs like “The Road I’m On” that take a look at the beauty of the world as someone travels home.

The full Fun album is out now. It features songs like “All Day Long,” “Stronger Than You,” as well as “Dive Bar” that features fellow country crooner Blake Shelton. It even features a duet with his wife, Trisha Yearwood. The cover the hit song “Shallow” from the movie “A Star is Born.”
