Just before former president Jimmy Carter and his wife celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary, the couple was given a special gift from two of the biggest names in country music.

On Saturday, Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood met with the Carters privately before their anniversary bash to present the couple with a red convertible from 1946 — the same year the couple tied the knot.

The Carters’ close friend, Jill Stuckey, revealed that the gift arrived at the couple’s home in Plains, Georgia, last Wednesday. Secret Service took the vehicle to hide it from the former first couple until it was brought out on Saturday.

“Bright eyes and big smiles and … very excited time, but there was so much special [about the day] because the people that were here from all aspects of their lives,” Stuckey said

The Carters got hitched on July 7, 1946. Now, 75 years later, they celebrated the milestone when they threw a party in their hometown.

According to People, the country powerhouse couple who have worked extensively with the Carters as part of Habitat for Humanity were just a few of the A-list celebrities in attendance for the event.

The guests included their friends from their time in the White House. Also in attendance were staff from the Carter Center and representatives from Habitat for Humanity.

“There were people from their church. Nancy Pelosi was here. And the Clintons were here.”

She also added that Ted Turner, “who they’ve gone fishing with forever and are close personal friends with” were also guests. She added, “All aspects of their life were covered, so it was just a memory lane.”

Stuckey, who helped organize the celebration, says Jimmy Carter approached her with the idea in November.  “President Carter called me to the house one evening and said, ‘I want to have a party,” Stuckey said.

She added that both President and Mrs. Carter were “involved in every single detail” of the event. “He still, at 96, managing every little aspect of this special get together,” she noted.

Rosalynn said that her life “has been an adventure” since first meeting the man she went on to marry. During the event, she wore a diamond necklace that her husband gave her in honor of the milestone.

“It’s wonderful to celebrate with so many friends. It’s just so good to have you all here. I thank you for making it a good evening, a good time for us to be here and to be with friends we care about very much,” she said.

President Carter also gushed over his wife. “To my wife Rosalynn, I want to express a particular gratitude for being the right woman that I chose for my wife.”
