In the world of country music, you would be hard-pressed to find a singer and songwriter that’s had the same kind of success as George Strait.

The country superstar has been putting out hit songs for several decades now and doesn’t seem like he’s ready for a break. In fact, it’s quite the opposite as George Strait continues his social media following to engage his enormous fan base. A legend among legends in the music industry, Strait holds the title of “King of Country” in the most fitting of ways. The saying “you can’t teach an old dog new tricks” certainly does not apply to George Strait. He’s taken a liking to the world of online interaction and often uses Twitter and Instagram to keep fans in the loop. He also likes holding fun contestants for his fans to participate in through his “Honky Tonk Hangout” Facebook Club. Strait often uses these contestants as a way to return a little love to the fans that make him who is.

On Wednesday, however, George Strait just wanted to pop in for a quick hello and to share a memory with fans. He took to Instagram to post a photo and lyrics from one of his greatest hits “Amarillo By Morning.” It is safe to say that the country star’s fan very much appreciated the gesture.

“I’ll be bucking a the county fair,” George Strait writes in the post’s caption space.

George Strait Shares ‘Throwback’ Photo

The throwback photo show Strait in his traditional cowboy hat and oversized belt buckle leaning against a vehicle. He doesn’t say when the photo is from but it’s clearly old enough to be a “throwback” photo. The top of the photo reads “When that sun is high in the Texas sky,” which, of course, is a lyric from his hit song.

George Strait put out his version of “Amarillo by Morning” in 1983. The song is from his 1982 studio album “Strait From the Heart,” one of the singer’s top albums. It has since become of the legendary country artist’s signature songs. You might even hear on a couple of country music radio stations if you listen long enough.

The “I Saw God Today” and “Check Yes or No” singer is now 69-years-old and still going strong. George Strait has seemingly mastered the social media game as he has well over one million followers on Instagram. His Wednesday afternoon post took in more than 25,000 “likes” in under an hour — a true testament to his popularity.

George Strait is one of the best-selling artists in any musical genre, having sold more than 100 million albums worldwide. He is also considered one of the most influential artists of all time.
