George Strait: See the Country Music Icon’s Net Worth

by Halle Ames

The “King of Country” George Strait might just be royalty after all. With a net worth like this legend, precious jewels, and a throne may be in order.

How much is the 68-year-old country music icon worth? Well, George Strait towers over fellow singers like Reba McEntire and Alan Jackson with a net worth of over $300 million.

Don’t be afraid to share the love, George!

George Strait’s Trophy Case

Nearly forty years ago, George Strait debuted his first single, “Unwounded,” in 1981, making Strait an instant hit. The song peaked at number six on the US Billboard Hot Country Singles chart. Throughout the rest of the 1980s, Strait had seven albums reach number one on the country charts.

George Strait’s trophy case is all but bursting at the seams after receiving more CMA and ACM awards than any other artist. The Academy of Country Music named George Strait as the Artist of the Decade in the 2000s. In addition, he was elected into the Country Music Hall of Fame as well as took home his first Grammy Award for the album Troubadour.

Winning Entertainer of the Year is a big deal for any artist, but for George Strait, it’s just another year. He has won the award for the CMA’s in 1989, 1990, and 2013 and for the ACMs in 1990 and 2014.

The artist also has sold millions of concert tickets and albums throughout his career, which he has no intentions to give up.

Leader Board

Naturally, this would add up to a perfect storm for a wealthy artist. George Strait has earned the name as one of the wealthiest singers in the world, and especially high up in country music.

In fact, only four country singers top the legend. They include Garth Brooks at $350 million, Toby Keith with $365 million, Shania Twain coming in with $400 million, and Dolly Parton topping the list with $500 million.

Classic Country Music estimates that George Strait’s net worth is somewhere between $300 to $345 million. In the last three yeast alone, the artist has raked in nearly $99 million from tours.

What does Strait do with his fortune? We have an idea how we would spend it, but it’d probably look similar to the way Strait has. He has started his own brand of tequila, called Codigo 1530, although he strikes us as more of a whiskey guy. He also has properties all over and co-owns a resort in Texas Hill country.
