George Strait Shares Throwback Photo From Last Time He Won CMA Entertainer of the Year

The CMA Award for Entertainer of the Year is a coveted one. George Strait knows this and it sharing a picture of him accepting the award leading up to this week’s ceremony.

The last time George Strait took home the Entertainer of the Year award was in 2013 and the “All My Ex’s Live in Texas” singer is taking us back in time with this post.

The caption reads, “#Throwback to the last time George won Entertainer of the Year at the @cma Awards! 🎶 👏”

According to Rolling Stone, Strait is actually the most awarded artist in CMA Awards history with 83 nominations and 23 wins. These wins include five for Male Vocalist in1985,1986, and 1996 through 1998. Moreover, he won Entertainer of the Year three times. His first one came in 1989, then 1990, and the last award in 2013.

George Strait is Getting Ready for the CMA Awards

George Strait’s been prepping for the 54th CMA Awards since last week. The King of Country released a playlist on Youtube featuring 25 of his biggest hits.

The soundtrack kicks off with the thought-provoking hit, “Troubadour.” It’s followed up by “I Saw God Today” and then “River of Love.” Furthermore, there are some lighthearted songs on the list, like “Honk if You Honky Tonk,” “Check Yes or No,” and the “How Bout Them Cowgirls” that’s played especially during barrel racing at rodeos.
