George Strait is hoping for a better 2021.

In a recent Instagram picture, the country star said, “Who has a bottle of @codigo1530 for New Years Eve? Let’s all toast to a happy and healthy 2021! #hastalacruz”

The country star is standing next to his white horse, wearing his signature cowboy hat.

The artist is also celebrating next to a bottle of Código tequila (which goes against some of those beer and whiskey country music expectations).

However, Strait is the co-founder of the tequila brand. He has a limited-edition extra-añejo tequila called the George Strait Origen. It is the brand’s first barrel select Origen.

It was hand-selected by him while he was filming the music video for “Código” at the distillery in Amatitán, Mexico, according to the brand’s official site.

Besides being the co-founder of a tequila brand, he is also has his own line of Cavender’s jeans.

“Nobody knows the western way of life better than country music legend George Strait. Capture the essence of country style when you shop the George Strait by Wrangler collection. With his signature jeans and quality shirts available in a wide range of styles, these George Strait clothing pieces help you create a look as iconic as George himself,” according to the official site.

Strait isn’t the only country star likely ringing in the new year with their brand of alcohol right by their side.

Country Artists with Alcohol Brands

Little Big Town has their Four Cellars wine from a Washington state Vineyard. Willie Nelson has his Old Whiskey River Bourbon made from all-American corn, barley, and rye.

Toby Keith has his Wild Shot Mezcal. He joins Strait in love for tequila. Keith’s is a smoky tequila made from wild agave and is made for sipping.

Lastly, Blake Shelton is an Outsider with his Smithworks American-Made Vodka. It has water from Lake Fort Smith and corn from Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma.

It appears that the new year will be a boozy one for country artists.
