Happy Birthday, Gary LeVox!
The former Rascal Flatts member turns 51 today. Gary LeVox first broke into the country scene with his former band, Rascal Flatts in 2000. Since then, LeVox has taken country music by storm with number one hit songs, number one albums, and sold-out shows. Most recently, LeVox retired from Rascal Flatts and released his debut solo album. To celebrate all those milestones, including his birthday, we’ve compiled a list of some of Gary LeVox’s best career moments.
When He Released His Debut Album With Rascal Flatts
It’s always fun to go back to when it all started. And for Gary LeVox and Rascal Flatts, it all started in 2000. That was the year the band released their debut, self-titled album. The album featured four singles that landed in the Top Ten of Billboard‘s Hot Country Songs chart. The songs included, “Prayin’ for Daylight“, “This Everyday Love”, “While You Loved Me” and “I’m Movin’ On”. The album was the band’s only album not to feature a number one hit song. However, it put Rascal Flatts on the country music map and it paved the way for all their future number one hit songs.
When He Landed His First Number One Hit Song With Rascal Flatts
Just two years after the release of their debut album, Rascal Flatts dropped their second album, Melt. The album produced four Top Ten songs including “These Days.” The song is about running into an ex-partner. During the song, Gary LeVox reveals what he’s doing “these days.” He says his life is basically just a string of mundane tasks interrupted only by thoughts about and tears for his ex. “These Days” became the band’s first number one hit on the U.S. charts.
When He Almost Got Arrested With Darius Rucker
When country boys come together, there’s bound to be some shenanigans. And that’s exactly what happened while Darius Rucker was touring with Rascal Flatts. Rucker recently shared a video detailing the time he and Gary LeVox almost got arrested. The story hilariously involved the two of them getting pulled over after trying to cross a highway in a golf cart. We know Rascal Flatts have always been the good boys of country music. So it’s funny to hear that Gary LeVox also had a mischievous side.
When Gary LeVox Released His Debut Solo Album
We absolutely loved Rascal Flatts but all good things must come to an end. So, after over two decades of tours and albums, the band decided to go their separate ways. But that doesn’t mean the trio is quitting music. In fact, Gary LeVox doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon. Earlier this year LeVox released his debut solo album, One on One. The album is a Christian, five-track EP that even features a song with his daughter. The two teamed up for the song, “While I Wait.”
