Last night, West coast rapper icon Snoop Dogg helped commentate the fight between Mike Tyson and Roy Jones. Today, Jason Aldean shared a throwback picture of him and Snoop from “a few years ago.”
“Here is a throwback from a few years ago,” Aldean said on his Twitter post. “Gotta give my man @SnoopDogg a shoutout for his commentary last night during the Tyson fight! I think u have found a new career.”
Aldean wasn’t the only one asking for more of Snoop in the booth. Snoop Dogg received a lot of praise for his commentary skills on Twitter. Some even called for him to receive a Tony Romo type contract. He has also tried his hand at commentating a couple of other times. In 2019, he narrated his own nature show with Jimmy Kimmel called “Plizzanet Earth,” and he also appeared in the commentating booth in the NHL video game in 2020.
Snoop Dogg at the 2008 CMT Music Awards
Based on Snoop’s outfit and hairstyle, “a few years ago,” means the CMT Music Awards on April 14, 2008. Billy Ray Cyrus and his daughter, Miley Cyrus, hosted that awards ceremony together. Snoop Dogg and Paula Abdul among others made guest appearances to present awards that night. In fact, Jason Aldean himself also presented an award at the 2008 CMT Music Awards. The CMT Music Awards are the only country music awards based solely on fan voting.
2020 CMT Music Awards Ceremony
The 2020 CMT Music Awards proved quite an eventful affair. Between Noah Cyrus performing practically naked and Luke Combs shotgunning a beer on national television, there was a lot to unpack. The Awards Ceremony occurred on October 21 of this year, hosted by Ashley McBryde, Cane Brown, and Hyland. The event itself got delayed four months from the previous air date due to the Nashville tornadoes and the Covid-19 pandemic but did not lack in excitement when it finally arrived.
