Jimmie Allen Cancels Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade Performance Due to Family Emergency

Country megastar Jimmie Allen is having to cancel his much-anticipated Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade performance over a “family emergency”.

The news comes as a disappointing turn for Jimmie Allen and his fans, but an understandable one. Family values are central to the country music genre, artists, and fans. As a result, not a soul should think twice about Allen having to drop this prestigious Thanksgiving performance to be with his family.

Allen drops the news today on Twitter for his followers. Within, he provides an honest and straightforward message for his peeps.

Jimmie Allen Pens Heartfelt Message to Fans

“What up peeps,” the star starts off. “Wanted to check in here and let ya know that unfortunately, I won’t be able to perform on the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade this year due to a minor family emergency.”

From here, Allen provides no further details on the emergency. Whether he, or a family member has tested positive for COVID-19 is unknown. As it stands, the emergency could be of any ilk.

“I’m still looking forward to watching the parade with the family like we always do,” he continues. “Hopefully one year soon I’ll be watching it from one of the floats. Happy Thanksgiving,” Allen ends with a few signature emojis.

Country fans can still look forward to plenty of other great performances from home. Dolly Parton, for one, will be performing at Macy’s Parade once again. Brett Young will be on hand to help hold down the country fort, as well.

For Allen, however, there is a hint of somberness to his words. This, combined with the difficult decision of dropping such a high-profile gig, implies that Allen needs and wants to be with his family this Thanksgiving. As such, we wish Jimmie Allen & the Allens a healthy and happy Thanksgiving.

And that goes for all of you readers, too.
