There are good days and there are bad days. And there are overwhelmingly good days that have a few bad moments in them. And there are overwhelmingly bad days that have a few good moments in them. If you ask country music artist Justin Moore about one specific day in 2007, he would probably say that it was one of those overwhelmingly good days that had a few bad moments in it.
It was on this day in question, according to The Boot, that the 37-year-old country music singer experienced two of the most momentous moments of his life. He also experienced great sadness on the same day.
With the sweet, comes the bitter. Such is life, after all.
So, what happened to Justin Moore on that day more than a decade ago?
Well, for one thing, he and his wife, Kate, got married. To make the day even better, Moore also signed a recording contract with the Big Machine Label Group on that same day!
Justin Moore Said He Spent His Wedding Day Looking for His Dogs
However, Justin Moore didn’t spend a quiet night at home the night before he was to marry Kate. Actually, he did quite the opposite – he went out and had a pretty wild time. The details of that night weren’t something the “Small Town USA” singer’s wife was actually aware of.
And the night resulted in Moore’s dogs going missing. And, of course, he went on a search for them. This search almost made him miss one of the most important moments of his life.
“I came in drunk the night before, crawled through my window, and my two dogs got out. … spent my whole wedding day searching for my two dogs. I nearly didn’t even make it to the wedding,” Moore also shared.
The events surrounding Moore signing his record deal are also exciting. It was during his wedding reception – yes, he made it to the wedding – that he was encouraged by his manager to sign the deal. That momentous occasion took place around the time Justin and Kate were about to cut their wedding cake. “Sign this right now,” Moore’s manager said at the moment. Obviously, he did and his career began to take off.
“It was a whirlwind of emotion. I mean, getting married, signing my record deal the same day. It’s funny, the day you get married, you don’t even remember anything. So then I get there and sign my record deal, and three months after that, we’re on tour with Lynyrd Skynyrd and Hank Williams Jr.,” Justin Moore said.
Interestingly, the relationship between Justin Moore and his wife, Kate, goes back to their teenage years. They met while their school was taking a trip to Panama City Beach in Florida. Kate caught Justin’s eye over a campfire.
“We were the ones who weren’t acting all crazy and the fool. We were cleaning up our drunk friends. It’s kind of cheesy, but we just sat around and talked and hung out. We’ve been together ever since,” the “Point at You” singer also said.
They now have four children – three daughters and one son.
