As we bid a highly-overdue farewell to 2020, many will be celebrating with a glass (or five) of champagne. If you plan on spending New Year’s Day in bed with a headache— you’re in luck because Kacey Musgraves is sharing her go-to hangover cure.
The singer-songwriter filled us in on her tonic for having one too many champagne toasts.
“Coconut water is a major help with hangovers.”
In addition to hydrating, Musgraves also recommends eating something warm and hearty to help with hangover symptoms.
“A lot of times we go and eat Vietnamese pho. It’s a soup, and it’s got this awesome broth. You can get different things in it or whatever, but for some reason, it’s almost like a chicken noodle soup kind of an idea, you know, but it’s good.”
Musgraves proved she’s the mom of the group when she reminded us all to stay hydrated, take medicine, and get plenty of sleep.
“Sleep, Tylenol, coconut water, and just water, in general. And when you’re drinking, have your alcohol, drink a little bit of water, drink some more alcohol, drink some water. Yup!”
Considering Musgraves has been known to have plenty of celebratory nights, we’re sure she’s an expert at dealing with an inevitable hangover.
Kacey Musgraves Asks Fans If You”Can Die from a Hangover” After Night With Willie Nelson
Last year, after winning Female Vocalist of the Year and Music Video of the Year at the 2019 CMAs, the country singer partied with pal Willie Nelson.
Which explains her subsequent hangover tweet that came the day after: “can you die from a hangover? asking for a friend who is actually me.”
During an interview with James Corden, the country singer explained how the night went down.
“Well, directly after the show, I went to Willie Nelson’s bus,” her story began. “I don’t know…I brought him some pizza. He loved that. Yeah, we hung out for a second and I don’t really know what happened. The next thing I know…We leave, we hit some Nashville honky-tonks, it’s really fun.
Just wait, it gets even better!
The next thing I know, I’m in this barn and Reese Witherspoon is playing bongos. Gigi Hadid is also playing bongos. I’m singing with Ronnie Dunn, it’s like, this. Like, this—I don’t know. And then, yeah, I woke up. And I was…I don’t know!”
During the interview, Corden asked the “Rainbow” singer about her hangover remedies she’s learned over the years.
“Gatorade, but also just not drinking,” she said. “I mean, just don’t poison yourself…just don’t be an a–hole and drink, like, loads…just buckets of tequila. Don’t do that.”
