Just in time for the fall, it seems Kacey Musgraves is set to release new music. Recently, the country music artist shared a number of social media posts, teasing an upcoming song. With rather somber lyrics, the song appears to be inspired by her recent divorce.

Over the course of 15 separate posts on Instagram, Musgraves shared the new lyrics and fans seem extremely excited. With each background becoming an increasingly darker sky, the emotion is translated without much music. While it is Muscgraves’ birthday she has given fans a gift.

The first video features a small snippet of music. Kacey Musgraves comes over the slight guitar notes singing, “Let me set the scene..” Soon, a slew of posts went up featuring more lyrics. Fans fawned over each post, taking in the lyrics and story.

“Two lovers ripped right at the seams, they woke up from the perfect dream, and then the darkness came,” the next group of posts read in succession. They continued, “I signed the papers yesterday, you came and took your things away, moved out of the home we made…and gave you back your name.”

The beauty of the lyrics is apparent without any music or singing. Just reading the posts, the emotion and pain come through. The last set of posts read, “What have we done? Did we fly too high? Just to get burned by the sun? No one’s to blame ’cause we called all the angels to save us, called them by name but I guess they got lost…” Throughout the comments, fans were losing their collective minds and sharing words of support for Kacey Musgraves.

Kacey Musgraves New Music

While it hasn’t been announced one way or another about a release date, new music is clearly on the way. Kacey Musgraves has spoken about working on new music inspired by her recent divorce. Along with rumors and fan buzz on social media, a fourth Musgraves album seems right around the corner.

Over a year ago in July 2020, Musgraves and her husband Ruston Kelly divorced. The two were married in 2017 and Musgraves has said how much inspiration she drew from the relationship in her third album. Being an emotional singer-songwriter, fans should expect that emotion to translate across the album. With drippy, heavy romantic sounds and more pop influence on her last album, Golden Hour, was different from her first two albums. Perhaps this fourth release will be something entirely unique as well.

Regardless of the inspiration, Kacey Musgraves is going to connect to her listeners. That ability to connect and make music come to life is what has made her so successful up to this point in her career. As one of the brightest young stars in country music, Musgraves has a lot more to give and fans couldn’t be more excited to hear the next chapter. So, keep your eyes peeled for new Musgraves, you never know when it will drop.
