Kellie Pickler once moved a Japanese bartender to tears with her rendition of a Patsy Cline song.
On an episode of I Love Kellie Pickler, the singer decided to head to a tiny Japanese bar for some drinks. While there, along with a handful of other patrons, she left an autograph for the staff. She also treated them to an a cappella performance of Patsy Cline’s “Crazy.”
The bar scene was quiet as Kellie sang her heart out to the classic country song.
While sitting in the tiny bar, belting out the song, the bar visitors around her were moved to happy tears. One made the comparison that she sounded like Mariah Carey.
“Wonderful,” another bartender stated before they all tasted and shared drinks.
Kellie Pickler’s musical legacy
Kellie Pickler is a former American Idol contestant. Unlike previous winner Carrie Underwood, she did not win the competition. She was eventually eliminated as part of the Top 6. After that, she signed a record deal and ended up releasing a wide variety of music that resonated with country fans.
Over the years, she’s cited Dolly Parton as her “idol” and “strongest influence”. Her small-town girl charm has taken her quite far. However, she hasn’t released a new album since The Woman I Am in 2013.
It seems Kellie Pickler may have taken some time out to focus on TV and talk shows. It’s been almost a decade since she’s given fans any new music. Even a cover here and there is enough to get listeners excited and dancing around in their seats.
Perhaps the country sweetheart will see fit to bring us some additional tracks in the days to come. That would certainly be great news for fans.
