Kelly Clarkson claimed that her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, defrauded millions from her and acted fraudulently as her manager.
The Filing From Kelly Clarkson
The Voice coach submitted a filing to the California Labor Commissioner’s Office back in October through attorney Edwin McPherson. OK! Magazine broke the story on Thursday, Dec. 10 and released the document.
The document lists two people in the filing, Brandon Blackstock and Clarkson’s soon-to-be ex-father-in-law, Narvel Blackstock. She claimed that they were “fraudulent and subterfuge device” for Starstruck Management’s “illegal services.” Furthermore, Clarkson says that they were unlicensed agents.
The legal document added that agents are required to provide the talent with a surety bond. Clarkson reported that the company failed to provide as such. Clarkson’s legal team also claimed that they did not obtain written approval to act on behalf of her, as her agents. The document says that the father-son duo demanded “unconscionable fees” and gave her “false information.” The attorneys also claim that Brandon and Narvel concealed information from Clarkson regarding their Labor Code.
Her filing follows Narvel’s lawsuit against Clarkson. He claimed that she owes the entertainment company $1.4 million at the time. His legal team added that she would additionally owe $4 million from her ventures as a coach on NBC’s The Voice and hosting her talk show.
After seven years of marriage, Clarkson filed for divorce on June 4 citing irreconcilable differences. Clarkson filed for primary custody of their children, River Rose and Remington Alexander. She was awarded such while Brandon and Clarkson maintain joint physical and legal custody. Meanwhile, Brandon is demanding $5 million in spousal and child support.
According to reports, Brandon will have the children during the 1st, 3rd, and 5th weekends of the month. The children will be required to travel to Montana for the 3rd weekend. Meanwhile, Clarkson resides in California and it will act as their children’s home state.
