Kelly Clarkson Nails Surprise Performance at Blake Shelton Concert Amid Ongoing Divorce

Ever wonder what happens when country stays go see each other perform? Well, if it’s Kelly Clarkson, she likes to take the stage, too.

That’s what happened Friday night in Denver when Clarkson caught up with Blake Shelton, who’d just kicked off his Friends and Heroes Tour this past week. The first stop was Omaha, Neb., on Aug. 18. Shelton has special guests touring with him, including Tracy Byrd, Martina McBride, Trace Adkins and Lindsay Ell.

But on Friday night, Kelly Clarkson was with a couple of girlfriends sitting in the seats at Ball Arena, taking in the show. She was fangirling away, too, posting clips and comments on her Instagram account.

“Get it Blake Shelton we are LIVIN’ OUR BEST LIVES!!! THANK YOU”

Kelly Clarkson Took Stage with Shelton to Sing Lonely Tonight

At some point, she took the stage to perform a duet with Shelton, a fellow coach on The Voice. The two country sensations sang Shelton’s Lonely Tonight, which reached the top of the country charts in 2014.

Here’s a clip of the Kelly Clarkson duet with Shelton posted by someone in the audience. You can get a taste of what was happening and know the two rocked the song.

Clarkson Said Her Favorite Part of Shelton Concert Was Acoustic Song Circle

Clarkson, using her Instagram story, said her favorite part of the Shelton concert was the “song circle acoustic vibe. My childhood self is losing her mind.”

Clarkson took a girl’s trip to Las Vegas earlier this month. She probably needs to be around her long-time friends considering she’s going through a messy divorce from her husband Brandon Blackstock. The two were married in 2013 and they share two children, daughter River Rose is 7 and son Remington is 5.

The judge has awarded Clarkson custody of the children while deciding how to divide the couple’s assets. Meanwhile, RadarOnline reported that Shelton fired Blackstock as his manager.

One of the primary reasons she headed to Vegas was to relax while catching a George Strait concert. As live music starts to open back up, even country stars want to attend concerts. Everyone’s missed live music.

Kelly Clarkson shared a photo of herself with friends in Vegas, captioning it “Friends, Vegas, Top Golf, and George Strait… I dare you to have a better time than me right now.” Hard to beat seeing the King of Country, plus drinking some cocktails and swinging some clubs at TopGolf, all while you’re in Vegas.

Kelly Clarkson referred to Strait as the “true king of country” in an Instagram post. Of course, she tagged her buddy Shelton and used the smiley face emoji with the tongue sticking out. She also added another photo of Strait and called him the GOAT.

We’re sure this might come up in The Voice sometime this fall. It premieres, Sept. 20.
